Artist Statement

My encaustic paintings are inspired by virtual globe treks to National Natural Landmarks using Google Earth. These sites contain outstanding biological and geological resources that should be preserved as part of America’s heritage. Although the imagery is based on authentic locations, the final result is an imaginative mixture of fragile yet resilient natural environments.
